Frederick Terry Wheaton, Sr., age 78, of Bloomingburg, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Edgewood Manor of Greenfield.
He was born November 13, 1942 in Fayette Co., Ohio, the son of Nevil and Georgia (Jarrell) Wheaton.
Fred was a 1960 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved to play his steel guitar. He had a band called "The Wheaton Brothers" with two sets of brothers in it, his brothers Tom and Ed Wheaton and his sons, Freddie and Terry Wheaton and Bill Bowman as a singer.
He was the former owner/operator of Wheaton Bros Music Store of Greenfield and city employee of Greenfield. He later became an ordained minister.
He is survived by five sons, Freddie Wheaton of Sabina, Terry (Amy) Wheaton of Hillsboro, Markam Wheaton of Greenfield, Jesse Wheaton of Greenfield, William (Michelle) Wheaton of Greenfield; eleven grandchildren, Cassie (Tommy) Shoemaker of Sabina, Hannah (Carl) Rinehart of Clarksburg, Coryn Wheaton, Madesyn Wheaton of Greenfield, Dylan Wheaton of Dayton, Phillip Wheaton, Jacob Wheaton of Greenfield, Billy (Krisha) Wheaton of Greenfield, Kaleb Wheaton of Cynthiana, Halee Litteral of Hillsboro, Aaron Litteral of FL; six great grandchildren, Emalee Dennis of Sabina, Lydia Shoemaker, Hayden Shoemaker of Sabina, Ellia Stevens of Hillsboro, McKenzie Murphy of Greenfield, Emma Rinehart of Clarksburg; three brothers, Ted Wheaton of Greenfield, Ed (Penne) Wheaton of Washington C.H., Tom (Zella) Wheaton of Washington C.H.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Wheaton; one granddaughter, Kimberly Lynn Wheaton; and both parents.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M Friday, January 22 at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Wayne Combs officiating. Burial will follow at the Cochran Cemetery, near New Martinsburg.
Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Friday, at the funeral home.
Social distancing will be observed and masks are encouraged.

My sincere condolences to the Wheaton Family, Fred was a good man & friend, I always enjoy being around him & talking, he was a very unique person. He will be sadly missed by many.
