Greg Matson, 'Hairy,' 'Gus,' age 58, passed away July 28, 2014 in Grandview Hospital after battling colon cancer for one year.
Greg was born and raised in Fayette County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary, father, Dave and brother, David. He is survived by his daughters, Lindsey and Nikki Matson, his 10-week-old grandson, Urijah, brothers, Jeff and Doug Matson, many nieces and nephews and a few brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
Greg had many talents of which included being a band member/singer of the Louiekaboose many years ago, being a master carpenter and a master of the art of upholstery restoration. He had a great love of animals and socializing.
Honoring Greg's wishes, the family joined in bedside prayers and love, followed by cremation. We just ask that all who knew and loved Greg take a moment to remember his kind and gentle spirit.
A very special thanks goes out to Jeff Washington, also known as 'the maintenance man,' for his thoughtfulness and generosity.
