The funeral for Herbert Edward Coil, 77, of Washington Court House was held Friday, June 26, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Keith Clary, chaplain for Hospice of Fayette County and Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at the church, officiating. David Penwell was the organist.
Pallbearers for the burial in Highlawn Cemetery were Jay, Shawn, Casey, Seth and Stacy Coil and Glenn Thompson. Landen Coil and Rod Bryant were honorary pallbearers. The graveside service was closed with everyone singing the Coil family's special song, "The Bear Went over the Mountain."
Herb, a retired farmer and husband of Sarah Jane Burgess Coil, died Sunday, June 21, 2015, at St. Catherine's of Washington Court House where he had been a resident ten months.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
