JoAnn Baughn, 83, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Friday, May 13, 2016, at 10:15 p.m. shortly after arrival at Fayette County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Baughn was born August 26, 1932, at New Holland in Pickaway County, Ohio to Ralph and Hazel Watson McCormick. She was a 1950 graduate of Clarksburg High School and lived most of her life in Fayette County.
She was a private housekeeper for twenty years and a clerk at Walmart for eight years before her retirement in 2011.
Mrs. Baughn was member of the Sugar Creek Baptist Church; Fayette County Commission on Aging; Fayette County Senior Citizens, Inc. and the Fayette County Women's Republican Club. She was an avid gardener, loved traveling with the senior citizens, playing cards and playing the piano.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Baughn on May 24, 1984; by a son, Rolland Jay Baughn in 2007, and three brothers, Ralph Desnil, Robert Lee and Roy Leon McCormick.
Mrs. Baughn is survived by four children and their spouses, James William and Bambi Baughn, Sharon Baughn and her friend, David Mennor, Richard and Tracy Baughn, all of Washington Court House and Sherrie Kirk of Leesburg; a daughter-in-law, Loraine Baughn of Jeffersonville; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a sister, Jane Reynolds of Bowersville and a cousin, Norman West.
The funeral will be Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Danny Dodds, minister at the Greenfield Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Methodist Cemetery on Palmer Road.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from noon until the time of the service.
