MELISSA ANNE STIRR, age 57, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at her home.
She was born on June 28, 1965 in Greenfield, Ohio to Charles William and Evelyn Mae (Newlan) Humphrey. She was a 1983 graduate of Washington High School and obtained an Associate's Degree in Social Work from Southern State Community College in Wilmington. Melissa was employed at Community Action until her health deteriorated. She and her mother moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida in 2018 and returned to Fayette County only a few short months ago. She enjoyed life on the beach and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Charles W. Humphrey and her grandparents, Charles and Marie Newlan.
Survivors include her mother, Evelyn M. Humphrey; her son, Joshua David (Christina) Stirr; grandchildren, Alexis, Landon, and Candace; brothers, Richard William Humphrey, and Robert Eugene (Kristal) Humphrey; and nephews, Christopher (Michele) Humphrey, and Nicholas (Taylor) Humphrey. Also surviving are several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the White Oak Grove Cemetery.

Went to school with Missy and would see her at the skating rink when we took our kids. Very sweet girl and lady. Know she has found peace and will be missed.
