RICHARD ALLEN SEARS, age 63, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 12:40 p.m. at his home.
He was born on November 27, 1952 in Fayette County to Earl Sears and the late Dorothy Huffman Holland. He was a 1971 Miami Trace High School graduate, had attended the former Circleville Bible College and received his Associates Degree in Theology from Christ for the Nations Institute of Texas. He had worked as a mechanic at Hillsboro Ford and the former ABX of Wilmington.
He, along with his former wife Susan Sears, had served as missionaries in Sydney, Australia. He was a member of The Gathering Place. He was a Harley Davidson fan, enjoyed working with cars, making knives and was a gun collector.
Richard is survived by his father Earl Sears; his children Benjamin Sears and Kaylee Sears; grandchildren, Chelsey (Ryan) Burton, Ryleigh, Brayden and Landon Sears; siblings, Randy (Connie) Sears, Scott (Jan) Sears, Eric (Kelli) Nelson, Debbie (Mike) Lee, Piper Sears, Nancy (Howard) Landenburg, and Mary Williams (Rick Cline); his loving companion, Esther Zurn as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved canine companion, Short Dog.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor John Pfeifer and Rev. Mark Click officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
