William Vandyne Obituary

WILLIAM E. "BILL" VANDYNE, age 82, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 4:00 a.m. at the Court House Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on December 12, 1933 in Fayette County to Roscoe and Leota Tillis VanDyne. He was a 1954 graduate of Bloomingburg High School. After his retirement from Visador, he delivered medications for the Medicine Shoppe. He was a member of the Fayette County Commission on Aging. He enjoyed playing poker with his brothers, country music and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Dorothy VanDyne, brother Golden Tillis, and sister Jessie Mae Lauer.

Surviors include his wife, Ruth Ellen VanDyne, whom he married on April 21, 1984; his children, Diane Loukinas, Robert L. VanDyne, and Loretta (Gary) Goodman; grandchildren, C.J., Jami, Lauren, Karislyn, Gage, Ripley, and Beckett; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Oryln (Florence) VanDyne, Eugene "Nick" VanDyne, Leslie (Ann) VanDyne, Roscoe (Mary) VanDyne, and Ivah Lou Sikorski as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Also surviving is his feline companion, Joey.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Mell Wickenseimer officiating with burial to

follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m.
