Benjamin G. Cavan

March 21, 1925 - October 12, 2008

Benjamin G. Cavan, age 83 of Stockton, CA passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2008. Ben was born in Ocana, Carcar, Cebu, Philippines on March 21, 1925.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife Albina "Eve" Cavan; brother, Pedro G. Cavan of Oakdale, Ca; sisters, Remedios Montalban of San Francisco, Ca, Leonora G. Cavan Dakay of the Philippines, and Crispina G. Cavan of the Philippines. He is survived by eight children, Ed and (Den Den) Cavan of Northridge, CA, Benjamin Jr. and (Lagaya) Cavan of the Philippines, Lorna Cavan of Stockton, CA, Abel and (Robin) Cavan of Modesto, CA, Joel and (Jessica) Cavan of Stockton, CA, Raquel Cavan of Stockton, CA, Rose and (Eric) De La Cruz of Stockton, CA, and Leah and (Travis) Holmes of Stockton, CA; nineteen grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters.

Ben will always be remembered by his beautiful smile, kind and generous nature. He was a loyal and faithful servant of Jehovah, whom he drew strength from, especially at times of distress. He had strong faith in God's promises found in the bible of a peaceful earth where death and suffering will be no more. Ben was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held for family and friends at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, near Beckman Road, in Lodi on Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 & Harney Lane in Lodi. A Memorial Service will held on Saturday, October 25 2008, at 4:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 8968 Thornton Road, Stockton. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
