George Tabuchi Obituary

Stockton, CA

August 26, 1927 - March 8, 2006

George Shoji Tabuchi, 78 of Stockton, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 in his daughters home in Sacramento. Born on August 26, 1927 in Stockton, he was the co-owner of Tabuchi's Men's Clothing Store in downtown Stockton for 51 years. A graduate of the University of the Pacific, he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. George was also a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Downtown Stockton Rotary Club, Downtown Stockton, Yosemite Club, SIRS #46, Grandfathers Club, Fifteen Association, Stockton Golf and Country Club, Stockton JACL, Tomo No Kai, past president of the Disabled American Veterans Charity, 30 plus years as a San Joaquin Sheriff Auxiliary member, past commander of San Joaquin Sheriff Air Patrol and past chairman of the Stockton Business Improvement Area.

George is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alyce E. Tabuchi of Stockton. Loving father of Susan (John) Iwamoto of Sacramento, Nancy Sasaki of Lodi, Mark (Cindy) Tabuchi of Stockton and James (JoAnn) Tabuchi of Elk Grove. Grandfather of Michael Sasaki, Lauren Sasaki, Kyle Sasaki, Allison Iwamoto, Kimberly Iwamoto, Nicky Tabuchi and Timmy Tabuchi. Brother of Masako Agari of Stockton and Shigeko Sakai of El Cerrito.

Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in Morris Chapel at UOP. Rev. Dallas Landrum officiating. Committal in Park View Cemetery. Max Carroll of Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions to either Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95204 or Calvary Presbyterian Church, 2343 Country Club Blvd, Stockton, CA 95204 are preferred.
