Gloria Ariane Villalobos was born on February 5, 1968 in Stockton CA, she passed away on March 11, 2018.
After graduating college in
Washington state Gloria's love for all things Astronomy led her to teach the course at Ocean County College as well as tour local elementary schools with her "Mad Scientist" program to advocate the importance of
science to our youth.
Gloria was survived by her
parents Emetrio "Emmett" Villalobos, Lucille Villarreal and step-father Joe Villarreal. Sibling Marcus Lowe, Lisa Jimenez,
Helen Villarreal and Jose Villarreal. DeYoung Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 2-6pm followed by a Rosary at 6pm at DeYoung Memorial
Chapel, 601 N. California St. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 10am at St. Linus Catholic Church, 2620 S. "B" St.
Stockton. Committal will be at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.

Was one of Gloria's Earth and Space Explainers at the American Museum of Natural History. She was our teacher and mentor. And she was wonderful. I would think that she'd be one who'd say "I have love the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night".

Gloria, was a friend and colleague who was one of the nicest people you would ever meet her dedication to educating the public about Astronomy was unsurpassed she was beacon of positive energy in this not so positive world. Many will sorely miss her.
Rest with the Angels Gloria your works done here on earth you are now one with the stars that you were so passionate about when you walked amongst us.

Gloria was a very good friend and long time colleague. She was a great person who brought her positive vibe and love of life everywhere she went. She touched so many people - friends, colleagues, her students and thousands of others through her planetarium, other science programs, and of course all her little furry friends. She was a caring and loving person in everything she did. I am sure she is an angel watching over all of us. My deepest condolences to her family and other close friends. She will be missed by all of us.
