My sincerest sympathies to Jack's children and grandchildren. I met Jack one summer about 40 years ago when I went to work at my Dad's company, R. Goold & Son. Jack became my mentor at work and in life. I worked with him each summer until I went in the Navy. When I returned from the Navy, I worked each summer with him until I finished college and moved back to Stockton. For the next fifteen years we worked together every day. Each day after work, Jack has his cooler filled with cold drinks and we would stay and talk about the day. He watched out for me like a brother. He taught me and my two sons how to fish. He was a generous and caring man. He was a dear friend I am glad that we had so many hours together.
I hope that he is at peace.

Dear Bartlett Family,
I wish to express my deepest sympathy for the passing of Jack. I never had biological grandparents, but I always thought of Jack as my Grandpa. I spent a great deal of my younger years at jobs, fishing and learning to drive a Ford with Jack. I always loved to come to jobs to see my Dad and see Jack, for I knew there would be an ice cold orange crush in Jacks ice chest with my name on it. He showed me how to be patient while waiting for a big catfish to bite. Quite a task to teach a rambunscious eight year old to sit and watch a fishing pole, waiting for the strike of a catfish. He showed me, with his weathered fingers, how not to get stung by a catfish. When the commercials came out for Ford trucks, I was a young kid learning to drive Jacks Ford pickup, he would always tell me, "Now you can say you have driven a Ford lately." This was pretty cool for a ten year old kid. Thanks Jack for all of your lifes lessons you shared with me. You were a mentor, friend and Grandpa to me. With all my LOVE Glenn Robert Goold. May you find peace and the big fish in Heaven.
