James Harris Obituary

March 3, 1929 - June 17, 2017
James was born on March 3, 1929, in Union, South Carolina, to Ferol Bradshaw Harris and James Minor Harris, in which they are predeceased and also his sister, Dale Griffin. Six weeks ago, James was also predeceased by the "Love of His Life" and his loving wife of 65 years, Nancy Nelson Harris. They were inseparable.
He was a Navy/Marine Veteran of the Korean War. He married the "Love of his Life", Nancy and then went to college and he graduated from University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy. He worked as a pharmacist in a pharmacy and then he started working for a pharmaceutical company and became an Executive Professional Representative for Merck. He was an Eagle Scout and later served as a Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America in Troop 162. He received a distinguished service award from University of Pacific school of Pharmacy. He received numerous awards for being involved in the field of pharmacy and medical societies. He was a Mason, Scottish Rite Member and a Shriner. He was involved with the Shriner's Children Hospital. He served as board member and president of Faith Lutheran Church. He was involved in Sundown Little League and was a manager of his son's team.
After retirement he enjoyed traveling throughout the world and different places in the U.S. and always loved going to Pacific Grove and Lake Tahoe. When he was home, he loved golfing three times a week and if not doing it, he was watching golf on the t.v. or attending major golf tournaments.
He is survived by his three children, Linda Harris Lundgren (Les), Bonnie Harris Scott (Tom) and Jim Harris (Jill), grand-children, Lester Lundgren, Lars Lundgren, Lance Lundgren, Bret Scott, Matthew Scott, Bret Harris, and Nicole Harris, great-grandchildren, Alexis Scott, Benjamin Scott, William Scott, Brodie Lundgren, Rowdie Lundgren, Mia Lundgren and Mason Lundgren also his is sister, Cynthia Wilson and son Mark Wilson of Greenville, South Carolina and niece, Lydia Burch and nephew, Jimmy Griffin of Arkansas.
Graveside service will be held Friday, June 23, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, California. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

I was very fortunate to meet this amazing intelligent man..I loved hearing all his accomplishments in life..an stories he would tell me. of his dear sweet wife..an his jokes he loved his wife dearly an very proud of his kids...now he is with his sweet wife...prayers to his family.

Jim was such an amazing person. I enjoyed his sense of humor. It was a pleasure sitting in front of Jim and Nancy at church and talking to them. He would "make sure i was behaving." He and Nancy were a very special couple. Heaven just got another special angel.
