Janice Schuh Markle

May 10, 1940 - Aug. 7, 2018

Janice "Janny" Elizabeth (Schuh) Markle of Nehalem, OR, formally of Stockton, CA, and Magalia, CA, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer. Born May 10, 1940, in Stockton, CA, she was preceded in death by her loving parents, Alvin and Mae Schuh, sister Nellie (Britton) Baber and brother, Arvor Britton. Janny attended Wilson Elementary, Stockton High, and Stockton Junior College. She was an Honored Queen in Job's daughters while at Stockton High. In 1962, she married Don Markle, a Stockton Police Officer. They had two children, Karen and Stephanie who reside in Stockton. In Stockton, she was the secretary for the Women's and Men's Bowling Associations and worked as a Police Dispatcher for the University of the Pacific from 1980 -1995. She is survived by her husband, Don, married 56 years, daughters, Karen Badel, Stephanie (Brandon) Hitchcock; grandchildren, Jeremy and Sydney Badel; brother-in-law Tom (Jan) Markle and her best friend and "sister in my heart" Sande (Gary) Nerland as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1pm - 4pm. Saturday, October 6th at the home of her daughter, Karen Badel at 1640 Seville Avenue, Stockton, CA 95209. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Manzanita Women's Club Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 73 Manzanita, OR 97130 or to the Rockaway Lion's Club Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 611 Rockaway Beach, OR 97136.

I will miss Jan "Mother Markle", very much. We've know and worked together for years and the world will definitely miss her spunky personality. Love you Jan! See you soon!!
