Jerry Sexton
Oct. 15, 1964 - Mar. 31, 2009
Jerry Sexton passed away on March 31, 2009. He was born in Stockton on October 15th, 1964 to Bill and Barbara Sexton and was preceded in death by his father Bill and his brothers Stephen and Jon. Jerry was involved in the auto sales industry for much of his life and at the time of his passing was dealer principal of Sexton Chevrolet in Manteca. He and his father oversaw the construction of Sexton Chevrolet (formerly Tradeway Chevrolet) in 2003 and they were both very proud of the dealership. Jerry was a natural salesman because he never met a stranger and loved nothing more than talking to people and turning them not just into customers but into friends as well. He was a past president of Kiwanis' Manteca branch and served on the Board of Directors of the Manteca Boys and Girls Club for several years. He was also a member of Manteca Presbyterian until transferring to Lincoln Presbyterian Church in Stockton.
Jerry is survived by his mother Barbara, his children Leslie and William and their mother Linda, his brother Scott (Pilar) and his uncle Bill (Donna) Hostetter.
There will be a memorial service for Jerry on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln Presbyterian Church at 900 W. Douglas Road in Stockton. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice or remember Jerry by performing an unexpected act of kindness for someone.

Dear Barbara, Linda, Leslie & William:
We were so saddened by the news of Jerry's passing. He will be terribly missed; I remember meeting him for the first time in 1993. He taught me so much and I will always remember him with such fond memories. Everytime I hear a "Journey" song Jerry and I both think of the concert we went to with Jerry and Linda.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this most difficult time. At times like these being so far away really weighs heavy on our hearts as we really would like to have been at Jerry's service.
With love and prayers to all,
Jerry and Liz (Cruz) Oswood

Dear Barbara & Sexton family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at the recent passing of Jerry.
As with the prior losses of Stephan, and his brother Jon (my best friend from second grade at Village Oaks through our graduation from Lincoln high school), I will always treasure the memories of growing up with all of them.
With a heavy heart, I want to send my sympathies to you, and say these three brothers have touched many lives, including mine.
God Bless,

To Mrs. Sexton and family-
I was so sorry to read of Jerry's death. I grew up with him from Village Oaks all thru High School. We got our first Camero's together. His white - mine burgandy and would park side by side at Lincoln High. And at Village Oaks we were both in Bye Bye Birdie and had we shared many summers together at Village Oaks pool. Between the swim team and marco polo games we were always there. Gosh I just have so many great memories of Jerry I just wish we kept in touch after high school. But I will never forget how polite, friendly and sincere he was and I am honored to have known him. He is a son to be proud of.

Dear Family of Jerry,
For years, Jerry would stop by my house, pick up my Corvette and drive it to Manteca to have it serviced. He always kidded that he put more miles on it than I did. He was a good friend and a good man. My hopes and prayers are with his family and friends.
