Joel Robert Hanson entered into rest at the age of 73 after a brave battle with cancer. Born in San Francisco and moved to Stockton from Patterson CA at the age of 8. Graduated from Stockton College in 1952. Commander of Hobie Fleet 280 in 1982. He was a member of Village West Yacht Club and Look Who's Talking. Joel loved the Delta and his boat " Golly Wolly".
He leaves behind the love of his life, Linda L. Hanson and loving daughter, Julie Van Noat. Also survived by son-in-law, Reid Van Noate III; grandson, Reid Van Noate IV and granddaughter, Holland Van Noate; brothers, Ralph McDonald and Douglas Hanson. No services are being held. May you remember Joel in your own way. I remember Joel as one of the cool guys when I worked at the Record when I returned from the Army in 1971-1972. Through the years I'd see Joel and he was always positive and seemed to really enjoy life, especially his boating and his red Porsche. My condolences for your loss of a great guy.
