What I am thankful for
What I’m thankful for this holiday season is being able to call John and Stephanie Miller my Friends. We weren’t the best of friends but friends none the less. John was a good man. The kind of man that you want your sons to be like, the kind you’d love to have your daughter marry. John wasn’t a very outspoken man, but when he did speak you would listen. He was very wise beyond his years and old soul if you will. The ten years or so that I’ve have known John, I had never seen him as excited as he was to be a CHP officer. As hard as his training was he always told me about it with a smile on his face. I don’t think I had the chance to tell him or his wife how proud I was of him. I hope his children get the chance to hear stories about how kind and wonderful of a person their father was. To my recollection I don’t think he has ever missed one of my children’s birthday parties, one of those little things you don’t tell someone you appreciate until it’s too late. So, this Thanksgiving while I sit around the table with my family I will pray for Johns and tell the Lord how thankful I am for him to have given this world John Paul Miller. It was a short Thirty-two years but it was a good Thirty-two. So, thank you Lord and most of all thank you John.
