Larry Leroy Chase
Larry Leroy Chase passed away of pancreatic cancer on May 13, 2020. He is greatly missed by his wife of 44 years, Deborah, children Breneth Chase, Trever Fearrand (Sarah), Terra DeGuire (Corey), and Kimberly DeBuhr, grandchildren Brett Mayes, Nicole Erisman, Ethan Erisman (Christine), Dutch Debuhr, Dominick Brewster, Alexandra Kratz, and Ella DeGuire, siblings Ronald G. Chase and Mary Beth Metzger, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Paul E. Chase.
Born April 14, 1940 to Berniece and Paul "Bud" Chase of Colby, Kansas. He graduated in 1965 with a BA in Sociology from Kansas State University, Manhattan and M.S.S.W. from University of Missouri, Columbia in 1970.
In 1970, he also began his career as a Social Worker, Parole Agent and LAN manager at the Karl Holton School of the CA Youth Authority, Stockton, retiring in 2000.
In work and in life he was pleasant, friendly, cooperative, and willing to help anyone who needed a hand. All who knew him will fondly remember his love of technology, family gatherings, coffee, saving gas, Costco, and quirky sense of humor.

Larry was my counselor when I was at Karl Holton. 4/80 to 9/80. He was instrumental in helping get my head on straight and testified at the County Juvenile hearing which resulted in my YA commitment being reversed.
