Lorene Pizzo Obituary

Nov. 20, 1930 - Apr. 11, 2017
Lorene - "Lori" - "Ninnie" Pizzo, 86 years old, passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2017, after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Stockton, she was born November 20, 1930 to Carmine (Charles) and Angelina Salvina Pizzo, who were Italian immigrants. She was very proud of her Italian heritage and her large family that meant so much to her. Ninnie was the youngest, and the last surviving of her one brother and ten sisters. Her dad and brother started a nightclub business on East Main Street and named it the One-Eleven Club after the family. She was predeceased by siblings Frank Pizzo, Mildred Richichi, Mary Stephenson, Della Elia, Julia Green, Alma Isetti, Edith Caligari, Virginia Pagano, Florence Hernandez, Rose Rossi, and Rita Morelli. Ninnie is survived by her best friend and companion Carol Anderson. She is also survived by multiple generations of nieces and nephews, too many to name, but who meant so very much to her. Ninnie worked 27 years for Tillie Lewis Foods as a Duplicating Supervisor in the printing department, until the plant closed. She ended her career working in the printing department for Lodi Unified School District. Ninnie was a one-of-a-kind person. She was born and raised on a ranch, where she began her lifelong work ethic. Ninnie grew up learning how to do and fix all things. She used these skills her entire life to take care of any family member in need, starting with her beloved mother. Ninnie was a star pitcher in a competitive women's fast pitch softball league in Stockton. She pitched enough to result in rotator cuff surgery later in life. She then took up water skiing on the Delta as her next hobby. Many weekends were spent launching her boat from Dad's Point, teaching family and friends her love for the sport. Family always remained the most important part of Ninnie's life. She was fiercely loyal. She is remembered by all for her love of life, and her wonderful, unique sense of humor. Once you met Nin, you would never forget her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lukes Catholic Church, Monday April 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at Casa Bonita Funeral Home 2500 Cemetery Lane in Stockton, Saturday, April 15 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Anthony & Rita Morelli Scholarship Fund at St. Mary's High School, P.O. I met "Lori" through her Nephew Rico Rossi, and His beloved Mother Rose. As stated it didn't take long to know her, She was so funny, had a sense of humor that was. Phenomenal!!! Her and Her Sister Rose would occasionally come out for a cocktail, and the fun would begin!!!! My thoughts and prayers go out to the Family, and I know She's in Heaven, making them laugh!!!! Rest PEACEFULLY..
