My dear Cece and her family:
I attended Ronnie's Memorial on Friday and when I left I had such a good feeling in my heart. Your family is wonderful, your friends are wonderful and you are wonderful. I saw the strength you all had in spite of the shock, hurt and pain I know you all feel.
Two years ago I decided I wanted to have that little pink dot on my driver's license that says I will be a donor. Now, more than ever, I know this was the right thing to do. Your unselfish man, Ronnie, will be living in two people, at least two that I know of. I did not know him, but to hear the wonderful things I heard about him on Friday night, he touched a lot of people's hearts and souls. I am sorry our paths never crossed. Cece, both of you were blessed to have found each other and to have the wonderful children you have.
I love you, little lady. Via Con Dios, Ronnie.

Cece and Family,
You are all in my prayers and in my heart. Remember Ron will always be with you and you just have to think of a funny time you had with him and it will bring a smile to your face.
When Ron was my gardener, he would make me laugh and we had some good laughs. I remember being out on the river once with a friend of mine and we stopped and visited you guys and Ron let us ride the wave rider. That was fun. I'm sure you and your family have many wonderful memories that will never go away. I feel blessed to have known him the time that I did and I know with the help of family and friends you will get through this in time and every day it will get a little better. Again, I'm sorry for your loss.

I read this on your myspace page Ron, a long time ago as the 'Person who you would most like to meet'. I thought, "I wish I had thought of that!"
THIS IS WHO RON WANTED TO MEET:
God, but hopefully not for sometime yet. But when I do I hope that I can stay there, because then I will know that I did everything right.
I think you did Ron, you are a special guy, a friend. You touched so many peoples lives. I can tell by all the photos on you myspace. You were like my second friend on myspace.
You will be greatly missed and when I get to heaven Jim and I want that ride in the boat you promised and we can go anywhere we want.
To Ron's family: The loss must be so heart breaking. You all are the luckiest people to have loved Ron as a husband, father and grandfather.
I will keep him in my heart forever and when I think of him I will smile as I remember our chats online.
God and His Angels will welcome him into their arms.
I will miss you guy,
Cathy Decker,

Ronnie was one of those rare individuals that just seem to brighten up the day. It seemed like every time I'd run into him at work, I'd end up laughing about something no matter what kind of bad mood I was in earlier.
I feel fortunate that I had the opportunity to know Ronnie, this world would be a better place if there were more like him.
God Bless you my friend, rest in peace.

Our deepest condolences to La Familia Almendarez. We have lost a very dear friend. We have only know Ron for four years but it's like we've known him longer. We will always remember the good times we were out boating on the water. Ron would call us on Friday's to make plans to go out on the water. He will never be forgotten and it will never be the same without him on the Delta. He always made us laugh and was so full of life.
Here is a very touching poem we'd like to share with the family:
LETTER FROM HEAVEN
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Oh Ron, very special man, lovely man, fantastic man, your friends and family will miss you more than time can tell.
In the strange and hollow days since you left us quite unexpectedly some of us find it helps us to remember the times we had already shared with you, the things we had already done with you and enjoyed, and to be eternally grateful for counting me as one of your friends for more than 40 years.
Ron's spirit, his generosity, his warmth also reached through barriers of race and cultural background. They reached through the barriers of age and generation. Because everyone was welcomed into Ron's circle of friends.
To me, he seemed happiest when he'd organise a gathering of family and friends. If Ronnie couldn't remake the world outside to his liking, he would make it so in his backyard.
He led by example. I’ve never met one of Ron’s friends that wasn’t amazing in some way. Ron saw into their hearts and knew if they were good or not. He could find those of us who were not yet at our potential, and like a great teacher, he could help us to own our value. For that, I think we’re all indebted to our Ronnie.
I will miss you more than time can tell, and my heart will be forever broken to not hear your laughter again.
To Cece, Teresa, Louis, Vinnie, Amaya, Alexiz, and little Izaiah, know that you are in good hands with all of us who love you and will stand by you through this time of sorrow.

There are only a handful of people who come into our world, and touch our lives in a dramatic fashion. Some of the people are just flickers of light during a long life, while others are consistent glows for years. For me, Ronnie was my consistent glow. He was my dear friend for over 40 years. He taught me that life is beautiful and worth living no matter what, because of the family you love and friendships you make and keep throughout the years, and the most important part of life is the people in it. I will be grateful for his friendship forever. To you Ronnie's family, Cecilia, Teresa, Louis, and Vinnie, and all the grand babies, I love you as if you are my own family. In many ways you are. I want you to know that my family and I will be there for you in this difficult time. Ronnie, I love you. I miss you and your laughter already. Your family is in good hands. You have graced my life more than you will ever know. I will be forever grateful that you counted me as one of your friends.
