Mary Windsor Obituary

Mary Anne Windsor
Stockton - October 26, 1933 - March 14, 2021 Mary Anne Coomes was born in Stockton, California, to Lee and Rose Coomes. Along with her three older brothers and one sister Frances (Bud), Charles, Joseph, and Ellen, she grew up in Stockton. Mary attended local grammar schools and graduated from Saint Mary's High School Class of 1951. When she attended Humphreys College, she learned practical secretarial skills such as typing, shorthand (a long-forgotten skill that she was proud to be swift and accurate with). Her secretarial career started at John H. Eagle Company which was the local Ford dealership at the time. Mary was the DMV coordinator and had to make many trips to the DMV to register vehicles. She always liked to visit one particular clerk at the DMV; his name was T. Hugh Windsor; he ended up being the love of Mary's life. They married on February 11, 1956, having recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Hugh and Mary have three beautiful children that gave Mary her favorite title, "Grandma." She perfected this role as grandma by spending lots of time with each of them, playing video games, watching tv, talking, and just hanging out. She has been admired and loved very much by her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mary was known as the "go-to" person for family and friends. When anyone needed to get advice, complain, or just someone to listen. Her opinion was held in high regard; she could be trusted and never judged. You could always find Mary sitting with her cat in her chair doing the daily crossword puzzle at the bowling alley or prepping the motorhome to take off on another trip. No matter where you would find her, you would be sure to be greeted with a warm, loving smile and leave with a feeling of happiness. She will be missed by all.
Mary is survived by her husband T. Hugh Windsor, her three children Steven J. Windsor, Valerie Chaffin (Carl), Kimberly R. Neadeau: Grandchildren, Joshua J. Neadeau (Britnie), Amber N. Chaffin, Amanda L. Chaffin, Trevor S. Neadeau, Alexa R. Chaffin, Aaron C. Chaffin, Hayley R. Neadeau: Great- Grandchildren, Gavin W. Neadeau, Avette I. Reyes, Sawyer T. Calderon, Carter A. Neadeau, Cheyenne R. Reyes.
