Pastor Doris Fullard Obituary

Pastor D. Marilyn Fullard

March 25, 1951 - January 10, 2018

Doris Marilyn Stallworth was the 5th child born to Lewis D. Stallworth, Sr. and Mary Stallworth March 25, 1951 in Stockton, California. Doris, while working at the Stockton army base, met and fell in love with James Larry Fullard. Both were in ministry, both were musically inclined and both loved family. It was a whirlwind romance and they were soon married on May 23, 1970. To this union 5 beautiful children were born. Doris attended schools in Stockton.

She graduated from Edison High School with long held records for track and field that stand today. Doris attended Delta College and she also completed cosmetology school and opened a salon named Classique Hair Designs. Doris later returned to school and graduated from the University of Phoenix with a B.A. Degree in Business Administration. She also received an honorary Doctorate degree, Doctorate of Divinity. Doris was a Proverbs 31 woman, an example to all women. Doris worked for Del Monte Corp. as an office manager. In addition to her full time job, she was the chief fund raiser for Samuel N. Hancock Christian School, and was instrumental in bringing the San Francisco 49ers to Stockton for a benefit pancake breakfast. She also assisted her father and worked part time as secretary until she moved to San Jose to follow her husband in ministry.

Doris was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at Christ Temple, founded by her father, the late Bishop Lewis D. Stallworth, Sr. Doris became Pastor D. Marilyn Fullard when her husband passed away at now, Faith Family Christian Center. She served in that compacity for 17 years. Under Pastor Fullard's ministry many souls were saved, comforted and nurtured back to spiritual health. Pastor Fullard visited care homes every Tuesday, fed the hungry, visited hospitals, ministered under the bridges and places others refused to go. She said, "I'm not afraid, I love it." Pastor Fullard received many awards and commendations for her work in the community, not limited to, but including as a Black Hall of Fame recipient, Pastor of the Year, and one of her most recent award was the distinguished NAACP Award in conjunction with her mother. Doris, D. Marilyn, "Lossy," our China Doll, was a powerful woman of God, a defender of the faith, a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who also was an advocate for the poor, a truly gifted, and generous to a fault, kind human being. She was without question the most beautiful girl in our world, both inside and out.

Preceding Pastor Fullard in death are her father, the honorable Bishop Lewis D. Stallworth, Sr., her husband, Pastor James Larry Fullard, Sr., and her son James Larry Fullard, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Mother Mary M. Stallworth, God Mother Lily Pearl Williams, her daughters Valisha Marie Fullard-Harris (Matt), Stephanie A. Fullard-Johnson (Everett), Mary M. Rogers (Charles), and Iris L. Brown (Ernest), and chosen Son and daughter Roger and Monica Dorris. Grandchildren, Charles Merritt, III, Serena Turner, James L. To Pastor Aunty Wanda & The Fullard Family
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot bear. After the privilege to go to Heaven in 1984 I can guarantee you and your Family that when a Son or Daughter of The Most High is there... Nothing here compares. Although your hearts will be comforted with His Comfort as you endure the transition of your loved one, May you be strengthened by His Strength & sustained by the memories.

My heart saddened to learn that the Lord has called Marilyn home but I also rejoice to know that she is with Him. He has called one of his Angels on earth to give him his own personal concert. To God be the glory. I will rejoice in knowing that Marilyn is with the Lord and singing for him. She has reached her Goal (to be with the Lord). All I have to say now is. "Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to sing with her and befriend her. To the family, I pray that the Lord will give you the peace, comfort, and understanding in His decision (bring her home).

This candle shines rather than to burn, for the light Doris carries with her did not go out, it will forever shine, you can see it thorough the lives she has touched.
We can all do this world a favor of "SERVICE"
BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE.
Doris's light will never burnout we carry it with us in our hearts.
