Samir George "Sam" Nehme

Samir "Sam" George Nehme, 81, returned to his heavenly home on March 16, 2017 after a valiant battle with heart conditions. His devotion to family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Sam was born to the late George and Prudence (Saadeh) Nehme in Haifa, Israel on April 20, 1935. He moved to the United States in 1967 and met the love of his life, Barbara. They married soon after meeting, on August 20, 1967 and were blessed with two beautiful daughters. Sam was a people person at heart. He loved taking care of his family and friends and he loved social outings with them. He was an outstanding member of the community, a member of several service clubs and the president of both the Lion's and Kiwanis Clubs. Sam was not afraid of hard work and successfully ran his own clothing business for more than two decades. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Creator. Sam is survived by his loving daughters Elizabeth (Nehme) Noronha and Suzanne Nehme; his cherished son-in-law Gavin Noronha; his brother and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara (Jacobs) Nehme. There will be visitation at Casa Bonita Funeral Home, 2500 Cemetery Lane, Stockton, CA on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. followed by the Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Church of the Presentation, 1515 W. Benjamin Holt Dr., Stockton, CA. Sam will be buried at the San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery at a later time.
