Shirley Fields Obituary

Shirley Jean Fields
January 17, 1943 - January 4, 2019

Shirley was born in Texarkana, Texas. Her family moved to Stockton in 1953. Shirley was born with cerebral palsy and relied upon a wheelchair all her life. She loved God and told everyone about how she made it through her tough life with God's help. She attended San Joaquin Delta College and wrote poetry. She worked at Sherwood and Weberstown Mall where she would pick up food orders for mall employees, to save them time. She made many good friends there and she loved her work. She attended Stockton Covenant Church over for 30 years. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 18th at 3 PM at Stockton Covenant Church, 1720 Oxford Way, Stockton CA 95204.

Shirley was my first homecare client then she was in a group home.it was one of the first in Stockton and a trial for more group homes. We later attended delta college at the same time and spent lots of time together. She also helped me to find an apartment in the building where she lived. My children and I were her neighbors for many years. We also attended church together. Shirley was so loved by so many people' she will be missed. I'm sorry that I read this after her funeral I would have liked to be there.
