V Ella Hollaway

V Ella Hollaway, aged 94, passed away peacefully October 14, 2010, following a short illness. A resident

of Stockton for 65 years, Mrs. Hollaway was born in Lavaca County, Texas in 1916. She graduated from Eilers Industrial School, with honors, in 1934 and moved to California in 1945. She was a domestic worker for 25 years at Frisbie- Warren & Carroll Mortuary in Stockton, retiring in 1998. Mrs. Hollaway was a member of Roboth Chapter #93, Order of Eastern Stars. She was also a member of St. Matthew C.M.E Church where she served faithfully on the Stewardess Board, Missionary Society, Senior Choir and Laymen's Council, until she was no longer able to due to health problems.

Mrs. Holloway was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years,

Ossie B. Hollaway, who passed away in 1998; three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by a brother,

Edward Flowers and a sister,

Dorothy Mae Norris, both of San Antonio, TX and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services were private at her request. Hotchkiss Mortuary is in care of

arrangements.

Sister Hollaway will be truly missed at St. Matthews C.M.E. Church, especially at the Missionary Tea. With the Texas motto. " Don't mess with Texas". May God continue to bless this family in this hour of need.
