Angelo Bellotto Obituary
Angelo J. Bellotto, a lifetime Middletown resident, died suddenly on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 59.
He was the son of Daniel J. Bellotto and the late Mary Bianchi Bellotto, born on July 21, 1950 in New York City.
Angelo was a faithful member of the Middletown Elks Club, where he also worked as a bartender. He will also be remembered for his many years in management for Lloyd's Supermarket in Middletown. He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army.
A family statement reads: "Angelo always looked out for his family, especially his father. He had a great sense of humor, and was known to many as "Rooster". He had many friends and enjoyed the Sunday softball games. He will be sorely missed by all."
In addition to his beloved father, Daniel, at home, he is survived by his loving companion, Sharon Eronimous of Middletown; brothers: Daniel, Mark, Stephen, David, and Paul and his wife, Jennifer; his sisters: Roseanne Schumaci and her husband, John, Mary Weeden and her husband Dan, and Elizabeth Critelli and her husband, Joe; nephews and nieces: Matthew, Jason, Deanna, John, Erica, Michael, Teresa, Mark, Matthew, Stephanie, Lisa, Paul, Andrew, Joey and Nick; and five great-nephews and nieces. He is also survived by aunts and uncles and many cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Frank.
Visitation hours will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY, 10940. An Elks Service will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home Sunday evening.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 15, at St. Joseph's Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial with military honors will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY.
Memorial contributions in Angelo's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 419 East Main St., Middletown, NY 10940.

I can't remember a time in my life that Ang was not around. From the time we were kids on Broad Street, working at Lloyds, Sunday Softball games, Below Decks,ChiChi's, Pitstop, Players and the Elk's. I will miss you terribly my friend. Always the perfect gentleman with a smile and joke for everyone. May you rest in peace.

Fran and I were saddened to hear that Ange had passed away. We looked forward to seeing him at the Elks, Nina's, and our MHS class reunions. He always smiled and joked, and he was truly interested in what we and other folks were doing. Last summer at our 40th reunion, he spent the day with a wig on his bald head, and a laugh about it all. Ange will be missed.

Sharon, and The Belloto Family, you are in our thoughts and prayers, Ang was such a good guy, from schools days, working nights at Lloyds, after coming home from Service, so many times our paths crossed. He always had a good word, a funny story to tell, we laughed at our mistakes, I kidded him about having the same size jeans as he wore at MHS. He was a prince of a guy, we will all miss him soo much. When a loved one passes, they become a memory, and that memory becomes a treasure. May God give you all peace .

Angelo,I"m really sorry that I haven"t been around for so long. You"re my brother and I looked up to you and admired you more than you knew. I remember Paul and me trying to polish your shoes before you went out.We were only kid"s and you would give us change and we really looked forward to it.We were from different generations but I will never forget you.I believe that you can hear me right now,and I KNOW that you"re in a better place,and we,ll see each other again. My husband and I were shocked to here of Ang's passing. John grew up with Ang in Little Italy and was good friends with him. I was fortunate to get to know Ang, when my husband and I started dating and got married. Ang was a great guy and a true friend, who will be truly missed. i've known ang since grade school. wrestled w/him in high school. played softball on many teams thru the 70's & 80's also.BUT was closer after.my wife alice & i loved going to the elk's for relaxation when ang bartended. this is a BIG heart break to us even though we moved to florida in 2007. called him occasionally to say hi. rich & alice keener.

True friendships last forever and I thank God I found a friend in Ang. Memories of his wide smile, his jabs and pokes he needled people with, after game celebrations, and his true concern for others will always warm my heart. If not for the shuffle-board tips he gave me at the "Decks" I may not have met Kathy. Ang my friend, I will miss you.

It is very shocking and sad news to hear of Angie's passing. He was a Hell of a nice guy. I knew him so many years ago (Lloyd's) and at the various night spots from years ago(70's and 80's) He was always a gentleman and willing to sit and converse with you.
He will be missed by many who cared about him .I will miss him when I come home to visit my family this year,as I always would run into to him some where in town. I will miss his genuine Friendliness. My Heartfelt Condolences to his Family and Sharon.

I grew up with Ang we were best friends for a long time.We were there for each other for a long time. Through the good and the bad. We worked together at Lloyds and played softball many years together on Sunday and during the week. I called him Mayor and he called me Sap. I will miss him alot.

I got to know and hang out with Angelo in the late sixtys and early seventys , he was a good friend and a better person and from reading all of the entries in his guest book he remained that person all of his life.

Cousin Angelo was a great person who was always good to me & my family. It was due to his recommendation that I was able to land my 1st job of any kind at Lloyds while I was still in high school. Ange will be sorely missed! I'm so glad he was such a great friend to my mother, his co-worker, Andrea. I always loved when I went to the Elks and we would joke with each other and bust each others chops. He was really great at that! If you knew him, you loved him. He just had that way about him. I have fond memories of him from our may visits home when he was so attentive to his nephews Jason and Matthew and how they ejoyed his teasing humor.
