Carly Marie Sigelbaum, cherished daughter and bursting ray of sunshine to Louis and Carla Sigelbaum, entered into rest Friday, October 17, 2008 in Westchester Medical Center. She was 9 years old.
Carly was born September 23, 1999 in Newburgh. She was a 4th grade student at Gardnertown Fundamental Magnet School, and attended Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh where she attended religious education classes.
Carly was an avid gymnast and participated in competitions with the GymKids Gymnastics Team. She played soccer with the Town of Newburgh Soccer League and the Cornwall United Soccer Team. She was a huge Yankees fan and World Wrestling fan, and especially enjoyed going to Disney with her family. Bike riding, reading, collecting special coins and dollars, and reaching out to people of all ages were some of her favorite things to do. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Carly is survived by her parents, Louis and Carla Saturnelli Sigelbaum, at home; maternal grandparents, Annette and Carlo Saturnelli of Newburgh; paternal grandparents, Edward Sigelbaum of Newburgh and the late Maria Sigelbaum; aunts and uncles, Anne Saturnelli-McCarthy and her husband, Philip of Peabody, MA, Karen Pellino and her husband, William of Newburgh, and Linda Simon-Mietus and her husband, Steven of Ohio; cousins, Dominic and Danielle Pellino and Dana, John and Tovi; great aunts and great uncles, Maria Saturnelli of Newburgh, Joseph and Judy Miele of Lady Lake, FL, Philomena and Frank Cantoli of New Windsor, and Stanley and Lisa Sigelbaum of the state of Florida.
The family will receive their friends from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, October 24 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 25 at Sacred Heart Church, 25 S. Robinson Ave., Newburgh. If attending Mass for Carly on Saturday, please proceed directly to Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh.
