Carmelo Pappalardo Obituary

Formerly of New Paltz, N.Y.

Carmelo Pappalardo, 67, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of New Paltz, died Wednesday morning, February 21, 2007, in Little Rock. He was born in Kingston, N.Y. on July 7, 1939, to the late Salvatore and Dominica Laudani Pappalardo.

Carl became a born again Christian in 1999 and was an active member of his church. He leaves behind many who loved him and will miss him deeply.

Survivors include two sons, Sal Pappalardo and his wife, Janeice of Jacksonville and Carl Pappalardo and his wife Tina of New Paltz, N.Y.; his grandchildren: Brian, Ariana, Carina, Patrick, and Leslie also survive him, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Martha J. (Hay) Pappalardo in 2006, and a brother, Francesco Pappalardo, as well as a sister, Dinah Tozzi, and his step-mother, Maria.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2007 at Bayou Meto Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Sumner Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home, Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heifer International and the Gideon's International.
