Daniel Branning Obituary

Daniel Joseph Branning, 16, of Honesdale, Pa., died Friday, December 17, 2004 of injuries sustained in a car accident.

Born in Honesdale, son of Todd and Diane Marie Wheeling Branning, Honesdale he was a sophomore at Honesdale High School. Todd was an outstanding athlete and was captain and quarterback of the Wayne Highlands Junior Varsity Football Team. He was also a member of the Varsity Football and Baseball Teams. In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother, Garritt E. Branning, Honesdale, a sister and brother-in-law Alisa and Bryan Mertine, Honesdale; maternal grandparents, Patricia Wheeling, Kingston, N.Y. and Joseph Charles Wheeling Sr., Joplin, Missouri; maternal stepgrandfather, Glen Hunter, Kingston, N.Y.; maternal great-grandmother, Loretta M. Wheeling, Shohola; paternal grandparents, Daniel and Marilyn Hicks Branning, Honesdale; paternal great-grandmother, Melva Hicks, Honesdale; several aunts, uncles and one nephew.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22 in the Central United Methodist Church, Honesdale, with the Rev. William Rushik officiating.

Friends may visit at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main St., Honesdale on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Daniel Branning Memorial Fund, c/o the Honesdale National Bank, 733 Main St., Honesdale, PA 18431.
