Daniel O'Riordan Obituary

Daniel Brian O'Riordan of Monroe, a stage set carpenter with Center Line Studio, Inc. and an 18-year resident of the area died Monday, May 21, 2007 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall Campus. He was 22 years of age.

The son of Michael and Maureen (nee: Horan) O'Riordan, he was born June 22, 1984 in Flushing Hospital in Queens, N.Y.

He was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church and a 2002 graduate of Monroe Woodbury High School.

Daniel was a considerate young man who enjoyed helping others. He was passionate about music and sports, especially his beloved Knicks and Mets. He loved his Irish heritage and spending time at his summer cottage in East Durham with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Daniel's generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He was a loyal and caring big brother who will be greatly missed by Sinead and Patrick, as well as by his dog, Duke and Oreo, his cat. Daniel will be fondly remembered for his loving, kind and good humored ways by all, especially by his extended family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Mike and Maureen; brother, Patrick and sister, Sinead, along with his paternal grandmother, Kathleen O'Riordan and maternal grandmother, Margaret Dowd and her husband, Vincent Dowd, and numerous loving aunts, uncles and many adoring cousins.

Daniel was predeceased by his grandfathers, William O'Riordan and Vincent Horan.

Visitation will be held today, May 24, 2007 during the hours of 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Rd., Monroe, N.Y.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 26 Still Rd., Monroe, with the Rev. Jeffrey Maurer officiating. Burial will be at St. Columba R.C. Cemetery, Rt. 94, Chester, N.Y.

Memorial contributions in Daniel's name to the Monroe Animal Shelter, 103 Mine Rd., Monroe, NY 10950, is greatly appreciated.

Our son Kieran was saddened when he learned of Daniel's passing. They played soccer together and were in the same class at M-W. I remember Dan from my day's coaching with the MW soccer club. Our condolences to Dan's family.
