Edith Cloer Obituary

Goshen, NY

Edith K. Cloer, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Elant at Goshen, Inc. in Goshen. She was 77.

The daughter of the late William Rielly and Mary Cooper Rielly, she was born on December 18, 1930 in West Haverstraw.

She was a retired Nurse at Helen Hayes Hospital in West Haverstraw.

A family statement reads: "Edith had an extraordinary ability to connect with and comfort her patients. She loved to laugh at the antics of her grandchildren, who brought her so much joy."

Survivors include her sons, David A. Cloer of Blooming Grove and Bruce Cloer of Stony Point; daughter, Linda Cloer Aspromonti of Staten Island; brother, Jack Rielly of Cary, NC; sisters, Mary Frank of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jane Brigandi of Stony Point, and Rose Jaffe of Cooperstown; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 21, from 2-6 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 22, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Anderson Center for Autism, 4885 Route 9, P.O. Box 367, Staatsburg, New York 12580.
