Elena Milano, age 86, of Ardonia, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at her daughter's home in Jupiter, FL.

Mrs. Milano was born January 26, 1924 in Italy, the daughter of the late Salvatore and the late Carmela (Cuomo) Acampora. She married Luigi Milano on July 24, 1942 in Agerola, Naples, Italy.

She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima and Plattekill Senior Citizens. She was devoted to her family. She always enjoyed family Sunday dinners and Christmas Eve dinners. She will be remembered for her gardening, traveling, summers in New York and winters with her daughter in Florida. She will also be remembered for never divulging the family secret recipes and keeping in touch with family and friends all over the world.

She is survived by her children: Salvatore & his wife, Mary Lou Milano of Gardiner, Clem & his wife, Rose Milano of Plattekill, Teresa & her husband, Tom Lewis of Jupiter, FL, Mario & his wife, Patricia Milano of Gardiner, Josephine & her husband, Frank Tamweber of Cragsmore, Elena & her husband, Louis Quick of New Paltz; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and she had over 100 nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Monday, February 8, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 S. Putt Corners Rd., New Paltz, NY.

The Funeral will be Tuesday, February 9, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Route 32, Plattekill, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Gardiner.
