Frank Trifilo Obituary

Wappingers Falls, NY

Frank J. Trifilo, 93, died Friday, January 2, 2009, at Elant Nursing Home of Fishkill, NY.

Born in New Windsor, NY, on March 14, 1915, he was the son of Santo and Anna Sara Trifilo. On September 23, 1933, he married Penelope Cristo, who predeceased him on November 15, 2005.

Frank retired from IBM in East Fishkill and for many years owned Trifilo's Food Market in Beacon. He was a member of St. John's Church in Beacon and was an avid N.Y. Yankees fan who also enjoyed fishing and boxing.

Frank is survived by his son, Eugene T. Trifilo and his wife, Sandra of Glenham; grandsons: Mark, Gene, and Timothy Trifilo; granddaughters: Lisa Reno, Deana Argenio and Adria Trifilo; sisters, Mary Contarino and Rose Tabasco; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Samuel J. Trifilo and grandson, Frank Trifilo.

Frank enjoyed nothing more than caring and loving his wife, Penelope, of over 72 years. His love epitomized their wedding vows of "in sickness and in health". He cared for her in her advanced years and the sting of his death is taken away by our knowing that they are reunited again in heaven.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon, Tuesday, January 6, at St. John's Church, Willow St., Beacon. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation, Grand Central Station, PO Box 3133, New York, NY 10163.

Arrangements by Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc., 1028 Main St., Fishkill, NY 12524; 845-896-6166.

Eugene; Barb and I were sad to hear of uncle Frank's passing. What a wonderful long life he had with aunt Penny and now they are together again with your brother Sam. Take comfort in that and in knowing that one day all of our large family will be together again. What a great time we will all have then. I'm glad we got to see them one last time at my mother's birthday party. Give our regards to Sandy and the rest of the family. Al and Barb Contarino
