George Pingitore Obituary

Newburgh, NY

George Anthony Pingitore, age 85, died on Wednesday, April 8, 2010, of natural causes in Newburgh, NY.

He was born November 15, 1924 in Yonkers, to the late Nicholas and Teresa J. Pingitore.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and achieved the rank of Sergeant. He received the American Service, Good Conduct, and World War II Victory medals. Professionally, George was the proud owner of Caleb's Restaurant in Scarsdale.

On September 25, 1948, he was united in marriage to Therese Nocero in the Bronx.

George is survived by his loving daughter and her husband, Julie and Louis Pipolo; sister, Rita Bartko and Leo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Peter and Frank, and his sister, Rose.

Entombment services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 12, at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Rd., Hartsdale, NY in the Rosewood Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Resident Council Fund at the Hudson Valley Rehabilitation & Extended Care Center, 260 Vineyard Ave., Highland, NY 12528 or 845-691-7201 in the name of George Pingitore.
