Georgianna Yanson Obituary

Georgianna Yanson, a retired clerk for the Cadet Store at the United States Military Academy, West Point, and 65-year area resident, died Sat. March 4, 2006 at Campbell Hall Rehab Center in Campbell Hall. She was 85. The daughter of the late John and Mabel Nostrand, she was born March 13, 1920 in Brooklyn. She was a former member of the Town of Highlands Ambulance Corps; former member and two-time past president of the American Legion O'Connor-Doyle Post Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband Choral J. Yanson Sr. at home; sons, Choral J. Yanson Jr. and wife Donna of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Spencer G. Yanson and wife Rosemary of Schoharie, N.Y.; sisters, Ruth C. Funk and husband Mike of Schoharie, Charline Lee and husband Kenneth of East Berne, N.Y.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many great-nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Highland Falls on Sunday, March 12 from 2-4. A Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 13 at 10 a.m. in Old Cadet Chapel, West Point. Burial will be in Post Cemetery, West Point. Arrangements are by the William F. Hogan Funeral Home.
