Gwendolyn VanDemark Obituary

Pine Bush - Gwendolyn Kay VanDemark of Pine Bush, a homemaker and a lifetime resident of the area, died November 14, 2007 in Middletown. She was 71. The daughter of George Davis and Eva Cole Davis, she was born June 15, 1936 in Kingston. She was a devoted wife to her husband Bud and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Richard "Bud" VanDemark Sr. at home; son, Richard VanDemark Jr. and wife Ellen of Pine Bush; daughter, Mary Montanya and husband Lawrence of Burlingham; sons, Randy VanDemark and wife Ann of Pine Bush, Brian VanDemark of Burlingham, Jeffrey VanDemark Sr. and wife Cheryl of Pine Bush; eight VanDemark grandchildren, Amy, Richard III, Stacy, Kelly, Eva, Erin, Jeffrey Jr., Tyler and two Montanya grandchildren, Kevin and Kyle; great-granddaughter, Bella; two brothers, Ernest Davis and Thomas Davis; two sisters Genevieve Markisello and Flora Berryann; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Elsie Berryann, Jean Dunn and Gertrude Nicoli and brothers Theron Davis, George Davis and Franklin Davis. Visitation will be Friday, November 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden. Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Robert Hewitt will officiate. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery in Pine Bush. It is requested that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601-4060 or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
