James Brozowski Obituary

Port Jervis, NY

Mr. James J. Brozowski of Port Jervis, died Saturday after a brief illness, December 5, 2009 at O.R.M.C., Arden Hill Campus in Goshen. He was 69 years old.

James was born in Middletown on November 14, 1940, the son of the late Chester and Genevieve (Gancarz) Brozowski.

He served in th U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965 and was a member of American Legion Post #151. James worked for Orange & Rockland as a substation electrician.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Pamela (Leidy), at home; loving daughter, Michelle Brozowski of Chester; sisters, Bonnie Mayefsky and her husband, Elliot, and Gloria Vander Schaaf and her husband, Ken of Slate Hill; brothers, Robert and his wife, Frances of Bullville, and Chester of Delaware; aunts, Loretta Lust and Alice Lichwick; many cousins, nieces and nephews and his beloved pug, Gracie and cat, Timmy.

Jimmy was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son and gentle soul that was loved by everybody who came in touch with him. He always had a special place in his heart for everybody less fortunate than himself, which included all of the animals that lived in his back yard and made sure that no homeless animal was left unfed and even kept a family of baby mice warm that had built its home behind his garage.

When Jimmy became ill just a few months ago, little did we realize that the end was near. However, he put up a tenacious fight and while in the end he wasn't the victor, he will always be considered our hero. If we find comfort in Jimmy's passing, it is to know that he's now reaping the rewards of a life well lived in the heavens above, and that as he roams the hallways of heaven, he is doing so wearing the wings he has already earned - and they are golden.

Friends may call on Tuesday, December 8, from 7-9 p.m. at the Morse Funeral Home, Inc., 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown.

A service will be held Wednesday, December 9, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name maybe made to Humane Society Port Jervis-Deerpark, 202 Route 209, Port Jervis, NY 12771.

Arangements are under the Morse Funeral Home; 845-343-6918.
