James Motta Obituary

Otisville, NY

James Vincent Motta, co-owner and operator of Brother Brunos in Middletown and Chester, NY and a 34-year area resident, entered into rest on Saturday, November 14, 2009 in the Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. He was 65 years of age.

The son of the late Aniello "Daniel" and Louise Motta, he was born March 25, 1944 in the Bronx, NY.

James was a member of the Holy Name Church in Otisville, and a member of the Sons of Italy.

He was a loving and devoted father who lived for his five sons. A beloved brother and uncle who has enlightened our hearts with many lasting memories. A wonderful person with a huge heart, and also an avid Yankees fan.

Survivors include his five sons: Marlon J. Motta, Lucas D. Motta, Matthew V. Motta, Dante L. Motta and Monti J. Motta all of Otisville; his sister, Marie L. Manocchio and her husband, Robert of Otisville; his brother, John S. Motta and his wife, Deborah of Stormville, NY; sister-in-law, Anne Motta of Ukiah, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Anthony D. Motta.

Friends may call at the Cornelius, Dodd and Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, NY on Wednesday, November 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 19, in the Holy Name Church, 45 Highland Avenue, Otisville. Monsignor Peter Tran Van Phat will officiate. Interment will be in the Holy Name Cemetery, Otisville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, Suite 330, White Plains, NY 10605 or to the National Hemophilia Foundation, 116 West 32nd St., 11th Floor, NY, NY 10001.
