Jared Horvath Obituary

Jared M. Horvath, of Ellenville, a lifelong resident, and an 11th grade student at Ellenville Central School, died January 4, 2005 in Westchester Medical Center. He was 17.

The son of Susan Irwin Horvath and the late Robert Horvath, he was born May 15, 1987 in Harris, N.Y.

He was involved in various organizations at his school, including the X-Cel Family. Jared was a charter member of the Key Club, a peer meditator, a member of ASVI and was involved in the Ellenville Central School television station and the choir.

Survivors include his mother at home; grandmother, Edith Irwin of N.C.; four brothers, Robert Horvath of Wawarsing, Jeffrey Horvath of Kerhonkson, Brian Horvath of Napanoch, Scott Horvath of Ellenville; one sister, Mellisa of Ellenville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, January 7 at Loucks Funeral Home, Inc., 79 N. Main St., Ellenville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 8 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jay Vogelaar officiating.

Burial will be in the Grahamsville Rural Cemetery in Grahamsville.

Arrangments by Loucks Funeral Home, Inc., Rt 209, Ellenville.

I miss jared so much! He was always there for me.When i was havin bad days he would tell me to take a deep breath and try not to think about it.He would try to make my days better and i thank him alot for that! THis kid was great! U couldnt ask for a morning caring a loving person then jared! He is greatly missed. He is my angel in my sky! Lookin down on me makeing sure everything is going ok! You sure were a true person! U were someone special cause you left foot prints in my heart! I love and miss u greatly

Grandma he always had time to talk to me. When ever i went online he would "say hi grandma", then when i said hi he would say "is this grandma" . he would talked to me for awhile . then he would talked to my little granddaughter kristy she loved taking to him. she would talk to him alot. i never meet him i felt like i knew him . i kind of miss him not being online.

I never actually met Jared but we were always chatting on the internet for about 3 years. Jared was always making sure that I was feeling the best and if I was ever down he would always cheer me up. We would talk on the phone for hours about just stupid stuff and we would both be laughing the whole time. Lately I have been busy so whenever he would Instant Message me I was always just leaving. Now I feel bad that I never got to say how I felt about him and a decent goodbye. He will be missed by me and lots of other people! He surely left his footprings on my heart.

I havent seen Jared in along time, but I can remember family visits and when I saw him at school, he was so nice to me and always going out of his way just to say hi when he saw me at school.It was unfair that god took him so soon. Jared was a great kid.I never met him just talk to him on the computer over like 2 years.This kid was great.HE was the type of person u can talk to about your problems n he was always there to listen. From Everything i heard this kid was amazing! Its to bad something terrible happened! i dont even know what to say its so sad! I wish he was here wit all of us but he is in a better place now!
