Jeanne Mills Obituary
Jeanne Mills of the Town of Newburgh, the retired co-owner of Galindo and Mills Jewelers and a lifelong resident of the area, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at home. She was 83.
The daughter of the late Louis and Dorothy Fowler Abbott, Jeanne was born June 26, 1925 in Newburgh. Jeanne was the wife of the late Nelson Mills.
An avid bridge player, Jeanne also enjoyed being a volunteer at Cornwall Hospital and attended Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Ralph Mills of St. Croix; daughters: Gayle Vadala of Newburgh, Karen Mills of Pine Bush, and Nella Mahoney of Newburgh; brother, Richard Abbott of the Town of Newburgh; sister, Elsie Eckler of Portland, OR; grandchildren: Keith, Susan, Robert, Daniel, Kelly, Kevin, Kerry, Brian, Bethani, and Jesse; great grandchildren: Zachary, Taylor, Lucas, Seneca, and Abigail Rose. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, June 21, from Noon to 2 p.m. at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd. (Rte 32), Newburgh, NY.
Entombment will be in Cedar Hill Mausoleum at a time convenient to the family.

I have very fond memories of Jeanne working with her at TCH and loved her stories of her vacations in Hawaii and of her life with Nelson. She also spoke often and fondly of her children and grandchildren. I am sorry for your loss and please know that Jeanne was very special and kind to me. I always loved to see her on her day to volunteer as she was the best dressed woman I ever worked with.
