Jeannine Elise Quackenbush Ellis of Staten Island, died unexpectedly on March 18, 2010.

Jeannie, as she was known to family and friends, was born on January 6, 1977 in Patterson, NJ and lived in the Bronx until 1986. At the age of 9, she came to live with and was eventually adopted by, William and Robin Quackenbush of Newburgh, NY.

Jeannie will always be remembered for her determination, her adventurous spirit, a cheerful smile and her willingness to help others. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her two young daughters, Sabrina Elizabeth and Sariah Joelise; her parents, William and Robin Quackenbush; three sisters: Bethany Davis and her husband, Raymond of Wausau, WI, Annie Barnett and her husband, Ted of Pearl River and Sarah Anderson and her husband, Brandon of Newburgh; her biological sister, Cynthia Gerena of Effort, PA; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members.

Jeannie graduated from Valley Central High School in 1996 where she held several school swimming records and was a member of the marching band. Jeannie was an active member of the Grace Community Youth Group during her high school years. Following high school, she attended Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY. She subsequently lived in Walden, NY, Bronx, NY and Staten Island, NY.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 27, at Grace Community Church, 2839 Route 94, Washingtonville at 2 p.m. with light refreshments to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Student Scholarship Fund at Grace Community Church.
