Jeremiah Cronin Obituary

New Windsor, NY

Jeremiah "Jerry" Cronin of New Windsor, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. He was 84.

Son of the late Michael and Margaret Murphy Cronin, he was born on May 20, 1925 in Coulagh, Eyeries, in the Bearhaven Peninsula of County Cork, Ireland.

After immigrating to Fall River, MA, he became a career enlistee of the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Sergeant.

Afterwards, he spent the rest of his life working at Mt. St. Joseph Academy and for the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Newburgh.

He leaves behind a brother, John and his wife, Mary Ann of England; sister-in-law, Tessie in the Irish homestead; a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary (Sister Gabriel, O.Carm.) and Katie; his brothers, Michael, Patrick, Barry and Dan (Brother Berchmans, O.D.C.).

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, February 12, at Mount St. Joseph Chapel, 64 Presentation Way, New Windsor, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 13 in the chapel, with Fr. Thomas Green, S.J. officiating. Burial will follow in the Orange County Veteran's Cemetery, Goshen.

In lieu of flowers, contributions on Jerry's memory may be made to the Sisters of the Presentation, 84 Presentation Way, New Windsor, NY 12553.
