John H. Moultrie, 74, of Highland Mills, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 7, 2019 in Beacon, NY. John was a longtime resident of Orange County and was well known for his many years as a local radio and television personality. John's distinct and mellow radio voice was enjoyed by listeners of WALL, WGNY, WTBQ and WVOS, including his weekly jazz
special, "A Sunday Kind of Love".
John was the Founder and President of John Moultrie Enterprises and hosted many events on Cable 6 and at the Paramount Theater in Middletown and Thayer Hotel at West Point. John served on several boards in the Hudson Valley and received numerous awards and citations for his hard work and dedication to many organizations in the region.
He was the annual host of the City of Middletown's holiday tree lighting ceremony and served as a Commissioner for the City of Middletown Police Department. He taught cooking classes for the Catskill Library System where he shared his passion for the
culinary arts. John's love for family, friends, music and food touched many lives and he will be sorely missed.
John was a loving husband and best friend to Anne Jacobs-Moultrie (Beattie), at home. He was a proud and supportive father to his six children: Jacqueline Renee Burton
(Moultrie) and her boyfriend, Jeffrey Dubow of New Windsor, NY, John Moultrie Jr. and his wife, Devon of Ardmore, PA, Mindi Messmer (Jacobs) and her husband, Michael of Rye, NH, Denise Austin (Jacobs) of Fairfield, CT, Robert Jacobs and his wife, Monica of Fresno, CA and Randy Jacobs and his wife, Kelly of Highland Mills, NY. John was a loving and doting grandfather to Roman and Sasha Moultrie, Justin and Keegan Messmer, Ryan and KerriAnn Stevens, Nicole and Eric Dalpez, Brandi Maloney-Jacobs and Joshua Jacobs, Isabel and Aidan Jacobs, and John's great- grandson, Robert Allan Jacobs.
Funeral Services were held at the convenience of the family.
The family asks that donations be made in John's memory in support of the Arts.

So sorry to hear of John's passing. My brothers Bill, Paul and I were on his radio show in Florida to talk about our Father's art career. John was a great personality and a good cooking demonstrator . Super voice . He leaves a lot of memories.
