Mrs. Sherin and family,
My prayers are with you during this time. I know you have no idea who I am, so let me explain. I am originally from Marathon N.Y. and had Mr. Sherin for a basketball coach. My roommate in college, Joe Sutherland was from Monroe-Woodbury High and also knew Justin. He sent me Mr. Sherin's Obituary. Justin taught me the real meaning of discipline on the basketball courts which I have taken with me through life. He brought to Marathon a new concept on how basketball should be played. I also remember being beat by one of your boys in a game of pig, often. He was a grade schooler at the time, but was a sharp shooter. Take care. Ken O'Neil

For my mother, Irene and for the other members of my family, our best wishes. We have many fond (and funny) memories of our time together as neighbors on Shuit Place

Dear Barbara and family,
As you can see from my signature, I am a Lynn from Highland Mills -- perhaps you remember my brother, Emory, or my sister, Florence.
I remember first meeting Justin when I worked as Jack Barrett's secretary 1953-1955. He was someone who all the kids seemed to like -- a dedicated "coach".
My sincere sympathy to you.

My family and i send our condolence to Couch Sherin's Family. He was one of my first Phys- Ed People to teach us children from Harriman. We had never had Phys- Ed until Centralization came.

Coach Sherin was a wonderful P/E Teacher, Coach and general good guy. He commanded respect without being stand-offish. Everyone liked him and I believe he liked everyone in turn. My sincere condolences to his wife and family. I am sue he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
