Kathleen MacKechnie Obituary

Matamoras, PA

On July 12, 2008 at the age of 95, Kathleen MacKechnie was embraced in the loving arms of her beloved husband, Patrolman John MacKechnie, who died in the line of duty in 1949. Kathleen's love of Johnnie and the profound belief that she would be reunited with him in heaven sustained her for 59 years. She was also greeted in heaven by Kay, Babe, Brud, Jim, Gene, Dot and Carli. Winston's disposition is especially wonderful in heaven. The celebration has just begun.

Kathleen lived a loving and selfless life and will be fondly remembered and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is especially missed by Colleen, her granddaughter who lived with her for 26 years. Kathleen died with grace as she had lived her life.

Surviving are: one son, John MacKechnie and his wife, Janet of Bethlehem, PA; three nieces: Pat Daugharty of San Francisco, CA, Judith Weiss of Port Jervis, NY and Teena DeRosa of East Windsor, NJ; one nephew, Jim Gleason of Heath, MA; three granddaughters: Jessica Nargi of New Fairfield, CT, Melissa MacKechnie of Jersey City, NJ, and Colleen Allen of Matamoras, PA; two great-grandsons, Cameron Nargi of New Fairfield, CT and Liam Nargi of New Fairfield, CT.
