Kathleen Richardson, 72 of Wurtsboro, NY, passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 5th at her residence. A mother and grandmother that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished.
Kathleen was born in Rockville Center, New York on November 5, 1948, daughter of the late Doris (Hellberg) and Everett Saxton.
She started her career with NYSDOCS after high school as a stenographer. One of her greatest accomplishments was attending SUNY New Paltz for her BA in Social Work to become a Correctional Counselor.
Kathy was happiest in her role as "Nana" to her grandson, lover of animals, especially her dogs. Her artistic abilities never stopped shining...drawing, painting, pottery, and gardening, came naturally to her. Her sense of humor and down to earth personality will be remembered by anyone who knew her.
Kathy is survived by two children: Andrew Leser of Kingston and Jessica Richardson of Pine Bush. She is also survived by her grandson, Jack; brother, Thomas Saxton, sister-in-law, Florence Saxton; sister, Laurie Whightsil.
A Memorial Service will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 10th at DeWitt-Martinez Funeral Home, 64 Center St., Pine Bush, NY 12566. As an alternative to flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan in her honor. Messages of condolences may be left at DeWittFH.com.
