Letitia Thompson Obituary
Letitia "Letty" Thompson, a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Maybrook, NY, died Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at O.R.M.C., Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, NY. She was 85.
The daughter of Cleveland and Fannie Partington Lown, she was born August 12, 1923 in Maybrook.
She was a member of the Golden Links Senior Citizens of Maybrook, Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Letty also volunteered at nursing homes and touched the lives of many people.
She is survived by her husband, Charles J. "Toot" Thompson, at home; one son, Charles J. Thompson and his wife, Roseann of Maybrook; two grandchildren, Charles Joseph and Rachel Bath Thompson; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, John Lown and Ed Lown and sisters, Ethel McKinney and Kathleen Weiner.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 27, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, Maybrook, NY. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Montgomery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Assumption or the Town of Montgomery Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
