Malcolm DeVoe Obituary

Malcolm "Mickey" DeVoe of Greeley passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2007 in Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis. He was 76.

Born on January 9, 1930 in Nyack, N.Y. to the late Helen Onderdonk and Malcolm E. Devoe Sr., Mickey was a resident of Garnerville, N.Y., for 45 years, prior to settling in Greeley, Pa.

Mickey served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, as a well-known mailman in Garnerville, N.Y. for 32 years. He was an active member of the V.F.W., Lackawaxen, Pa. and the American Legion, Milford, Pa. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan and excelled at playing pool. Mickey had the ability to make friends easily and was loved by everyone he met.

Mickey is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie (Walsh) DeVoe of Greeley, Pa.; and his loving children, Malcolm "Rick" DeVoe of Charleston, S.C., Kathy and husband, Peter Hekl of Plainsboro, N.J., Jim and his wife, Rosanne of Greeley, Pa. and Tom and his wife, Diane of Wayne, N.Y.; and his grandchildren, Krissy, Peter, Jimmy, Kristi, Tommy, Kelli, Melissa, Michael, Amy and Lauren. He is also survived by his former wife, Lillian DeVoe of Garnerville, N.Y.

He is predeceased by his brother, Charles.

A memorial service will be held at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St., Milford, Pa. on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service.

Final interment will be at German Hill Cemetery, Shohola, Pa.
