Maureen Brunetti Obituary

Maureen "Renie" Brunetti, a 50-year resident of Newburgh, passed away on Wednesday July 6, 2005 at home surrounded by her family. She was 72.

Daughter of the late Robert and Clara Anastasia Slaney Ward, she was born September 26, 1932 in Brooklyn, N.Y.

She was married to the late Albert P. Brunetti, Sr.

A family statement reads: "Renie had a great sense of humor and an outgoing personality. Her greatest accomplishments were her family, children and grandchildren."

She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh.

Survivors include her beloved companion, John Johannsen; her daughters, Donna M. McKnight, Lisa A. Brunet and her husband, Kenneth, and Tammy L. Granieri and her husband, Robert; her grandchildren: Heather Ann McKnight, James McKnight, Ryan, Brendan and Kayleigh Brunet, and Zachary and Tyler Granieri; her brother, Robert Ward; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her husband, Renie was predeceased by her only son, Albert P. Brunetti, Jr.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday, July 7 at the Brooks-DiDonato Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, N.Y.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 8 at 9:30 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Renie's name may be made to, Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550.
