Patricia Speranza Obituary

Formerly of Chester, N.Y.

Patricia Ferrigno Speranza of Hilton Head, S.C., formerly a 20-year Chester area resident, died Monday, September 11, 2006 at Hospice of Savannah in Savannah, Ga. She was 61.

The daughter of Pasquale Ferrigno and Dorothea Gorman, she was born July 8, 1945 in New York, N.Y.

Patricia worked over 30 years at Della Femina, an advertising firm in Manhattan, as an Advertising and Traffic Manager. She lived in Chester for 20 years, and recently retired, moving to Hilton Head, S.C.

A family statement reads: "Patricia was a loving wife, sister and aunt. She loved gardening, hiking, reading and cooking."

Survivors include her loving husband, James Speranza of Hilton Head, S.C.; her brother, Douglas Ferrigno and his wife, Suzanne, of Washingtonville; mother-in-law, Helen Speranza of Chester; three sisters-in-law: Elaine Berk of Savannah, Ga., Maryann Wilson of Highland Falls, and Jeanne Speranza of Old Bridge, N.J.; nieces: Jennifer Mirecki, Rebecca Ferrigno-Ohm, Marybeth Ferrigno, and Kathie Ferrigno-Wicker; nephews: J.D. Ferrigno, Patrick Ferrigno, Paul Ferrigno, Jean-Luc Chaubard, and Francois Chaubard.

Visitation will be held at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville, N.Y. on Saturday, September 16 and Sunday, September 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 18 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's R.C. Church in Washingtonville, N.Y. Burial will be in Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Craigville Rd., Goshen, N.Y.

Arrangements were made by the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home.
