Phillip Gottschalk Obituary

Hankins, NY

Phillip S. Gottschalk, 97, lifetime resident of Hankins, NY and owner of the Gottschalk Feed Mill in Hankins, NY, died Monday, October 20, 2008 at home.

Son of the late Phillip F. and Edith St. John Gottschalk, he was born July 15, 1911 in Hankins, NY.

He was a 74-year member of Delaware Lodge 571 Free & Accepted Masons; 74-year member and trustee of the Hankins United Methodist Church and 74-year member of the Hankins Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Maguire Gottschalk, at home; his son, Phillip E. Gottschalk and his wife, Andrea of Florida; his daughter, Lou Ann Kelting of Vermont; his grandchildren: Christine Gottschalk, Ann Marie Gottschalk, Tammy Hempstead and husband, Tracy, Edward Kelting, Kevin Kelting and Heidi Hulse; his great grandchildren: Hunter and Skyler Hempstead, Brian and Cody Kelting and Amanda Hulse.

Friends may call Thursday, October 23 from 5-8 p.m., at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Callicoon, and Friday, October 24 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Hankins United Methodist Church.

Services will be Friday, October 24, at 12 noon, at the church with the Rev. William Wolfe officiating.

Burial will be in Hortonville Cemetery, Hortonville, NY.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 or the Hankins United Methodist Church, PO Box 44, Hankins, NY 12741.
